Ms. Forman Cabrera is from Virginia and is now a high school Spanish teacher in Houston, TX. She has been a Spanish teacher for 11 years. She has much love for Spanish, the culture and food so she became interested in teaching others all about it. One of her favorite Spanish dishes is Una discada, a spicy dish that is essentially a stir-fry made for meat-lovers. Despite all this love for being a Spanish teacher Ms. Forman Cabrera thinks lesson planning and grading is the worst part of being a teacher.
Ms. Forman Cabrera loved her high school experience. She would always participate in her school’s spirit week. There are many differences between high school nowadays and when Ms.Forman Cabrera was in high school. She noticed a big difference is how outgoing students used to be compared to nowadays. For example how she and her peers would always dress up for spirit week but nowadays students hardly do. She thinks this is because students today care too much about other people’s opinions than students did in her days.
Being a teacher for so long she gained a lot of care for her students. Her mission as a teacher is to make a difference in a few lives and inspire them to reach their goals. She wants to give advice and guidance to her students about making goals for yourself, saving money, and educating them on how to reach those goals.
