One Goal is a class that some students take their junior and senior year and your freshman year of college/university.
One Goal is a class that helps you choose and know what is in the right path for you after high school.
The program has helped me in so many ways.
In my junior year they helped me decide what is the right path for me. It also helped me research about the job and helped me know if it was a good match to me. This year, which is my senior year, they helped me apply to the right colleges by helping me do research on each of them.
One Goal also helped me on my FAFSA, which is still stressful, but it takes a huge weight off of my shoulders to know that I have other adults that can help me in that process. Madame Nassef has been such a great teacher.
I honestly don’t know how she can have this much patience with seniors that at this point just want to graduate and have nothing to do with high school. Ms. Strickland is my mentor at the moment and she has done everything to help me with the FAFSA.
One Goal has helped me realize how many opportunities you really have outside of school. It also made me realize that it’s okay to change your mind, or your career a couple of times. If you ask me if you should join One Goal if you have the chance, I would have to tell you to join.
There’s no such nice feeling knowing that you can get more help than the other students just by taking this class. I also know that even if you graduate high school you can still get the help you need by having that third mentor that can guide you if you need help and that is such a relief because who is really ready for life outside high school?
Nobody, not even the smartest person you could think of and that is what One Goal has helped me realize.
It’s okay to be stuck, but reach out for help and they will help you.
