Many often think of Northbrook as a school of mistakes, but if you look past that and look at the reality you’ll see a community of talented and hardworking students. That’s what this article is for, to recognize one of the model students on our campus. Specifically, a student named Andrea Jimenez, or as some call her, Andy.
Andrea is a Bandolera which allows her to be a role model for those who wish to be on the team or those who are already on the team. She works very hard to balance being a Bandolera leader while also doing her best to strive to do great in her academic path. Another big part of standing out to Andrea is being athletic because it is also an important aspect to her life to stay healthy. She also does a great job in balancing all of that with her academics and her role as Bandolera. New and precious bonds are something Andrea holds very close to her. Making sure she gets along well with her teachers and is never afraid to ask for help to be on top of her work and to help her understand what she’s doing.
As of right now at Northbrook, Andrea hopes to keep her academic success and to always keep her grades consistent for the A honor roll. After high school however, Andrea wants to go to college and pursue a career as an ultrasound tech.
While she was fascinated by nursing, she has a slight problem with what nurses do. The issue being the blood to be dealt with. Indeed it did make her feel uneasy, thing is, Andrea still had a drive for that kind of field so she did her research. Once she found out about what a ultrasound tech does, she immediately fell in love with it. Finding out about that new career and envisioning herself in it really fills her with joy.
Andrea has many values that make her who she is. However, her three most important values are respect, time, and trusting in God. Andrea believes in respecting others but the respect is gone if the respect she gives isn’t respected. Andrea also values time, She doesn’t like wasting time or others wasting her valued time. With that being said, she also loves spending her time with the people she cares for and loves and cherishes making new memories. And last but certainly not least, trusting in God is not only an important value to her but also helps shape who she is. By putting her trust and faith in God, Andrea is able to push through her worries and struggles. Her getting closer to him has helped her become the best version of herself.
Andrea is a very unique and special student here at Northbrook high school. We look forward to her future success and additional leadership. She is one of the many students at Northbrook that proves students here can be talented and hardworking.
