Growing Up
Mr.Le reflects on his childhood as ”fairly normal”. He would notice his parents struggle when he was in elementary school, the challenges he faced shaped his resilience and work ethic. These difficulties helped him understand that ”money is a lot” and to ”not take it for granted”
Childhood Dream
“As a child, he aspired to be herpetologist ”that’s like studying snakes and reptiles,” Mr Lee said. However as he grew older he recognized a desire for teaching,”I knew I wanted to do something in science and something helpful to people.” Now he looks back and realizes that ”it turns outs teaching was the better of the two.” He found joy in helping students and making his classes fun to make learning a more enjoyable experience.
His Purpose
At Northbrook, Mr.Le is using his knowledge and experience to make chemistry a fun but resourceful class to help students succeed..”I feel like i’m in the right place.I’m able to reach kids who need support in science,” said Mr. Le. His enthusiasm is visible, and he enjoys sharing his passion for chemistry with his students. He tries his best to make class accessible and relatable so that students can grasp complex concepts.
Teaching Approach
Mr.Le’s way of teaching differs from other teachers. He has many goals to achieve at the end of this school year. “My main goal beside having everybody put up their phones, is for my all my students to pass.” Mr.Le claims Northbrook has opened many doors and introduced him different kids he hasn’t had experience with. ”Life is a two way street. I give you 50% and you give me 50% and everything will work just fine.” He emphasizes respect and mutual commitment.
