Kimberly Ledezma, a senior at Noethbrook High school, has developed her passion for healthcare by joining the successful program, HOSA-Future Health Professinals. She has told me that her inspiration for being interested in healthcare is because she wants people to stay healthy and also by making people feel secure about themselves. But Kimberly has a specific career she wants to be a Dental Hygienist. Her encouragement and her set of mind is what has become the ambitious mentality she has. Kimberly says that she would be competing in the national competitions of HOSA where students who are willing to pursue excellence by preparing for competition and having the determination to attend a conference. I asked her how does HOSA has helped her and she said, “They have things like patient education, where you create presentations, and we go to clinical events, I’m so glad I joined. It’s not just about the skills; it’s about the community and the confidence it’s given me to pursue my dream of becoming a dental hygienist.”
Kimberly has set her mind at Sam Houston State University where she will be pursuing her dream career of becoming a dental hygienist. Knowing Kimberly, I knew she wouldn’t just dream about it, she’d dive right in. Her sense of humor also makes her a wonderful person she said, ” I’ve always been a bit squeamish around blood, so wanting to become a dentist was out. But Kimberly loves the idea of working one on one with people. She imagines herself working closely with patients, building relationships, and making them feel goof about their smiles. Plus, the science behind it all, the anatomy and the preventative care aspect, really intrigued her.
It felt like the perfect blend of science and compassion. But behind all of her goals she has a personal life where she enjoys being with all of her friends her favorite memories have been created in Canes where she and all of her friends talk about life and also they make plans to go out and everything. Kimberly says that she has a really close friend whose name is Emili Otero they have known each other since elementary her friendship is about to be 1o years. She describes her friendship as the most pure friendship she has had. They have been together in their lowest always helping each other.
More than that Kimberly is 17 years old she describes herself as a consistent person as well as a person who sets her goals and accomplishes them no matter what. Some of her favorite subjects are English she loves reading because sometimes she connects herself through books. She also loves going to the beach and watching the sunsets with all of her friends. The way she thinks and acts is what makes her a better person she considers herself a supportive person and I agree with her because she always supports me when i’m not feeling okay. She hopes to accomplish all of her goals and keep converting herself a better version and she knows that she will accomplish it.
