A speeding introduction!

I recently watched “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” and I would be glad to inform you about my thoughts on it. Sonic the Hedgehog has been a beloved video game franchise since its release on June 23, 1994. As the name suggests it is the third iteration of the “Sonic the Hedgehog” movies. The first movie came out on February 14, 2020. Followed by “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” on April 8, 2022. The third movie came out on December 20, 2024.

The Plot Hill!

The movie is about Sonic and his friends fighting a new threat. Shadow the Hedgehog is one of the main antagonists as shown in the trailers, and poster. The movie’s plot is based on the events of “Sonic Adventure 2” a video game made by Sega.  The most unique voice actor was Shadow, who was voiced by the famous Keanu Reeves. As you probably know Keanu Reeves is an actor, both in person and in voice. Keanu Reeves has played many characters including but not limited to John Wick, and Neo from The Matrix. So it is no surprise he did an amazing job as Shadow. The amazing soundtrack was made by Tom Holkenborg.

The Good and Bad zone.

I personally enjoyed the CGI of the movie as nothing felt out of place. I enjoyed the ways the characters interacted with one another as it portrayed how their bond grew from the previous movie. This movie like any other has its flaws. For example I didn’t quite like the Robotnik dance scene. It felt awkward in my opinion but even so it doesn’t take away from the experience much. The main theme of the movie is to not let being hurt change who you are. I hope others learn to move past the pain and anger of losing someone from this move.

Final zone!

The main target audience I believe is people who enjoy the Sonic franchise, But anyone who enjoyed the first and second movie is likely to enjoy this movie as well. I would recommend it to parents who want to bring their kids to watch a fun PG movie. I have heard some say there are some minor profanities in the movie and although I didn’t pick up on any, it’s best for me to give you a small note of caution. Sonic the hedgehog 3 is rated 7/10 in both prime video, and IMDb While rated an 88% in Rotten Tomatoes. In my opinion this movie was a solid 8/10 although it is a fun movie there’s not much to separate from the previous 2 movies. I hope the next movie in this franchise will be just as good or better than this one.
