A movie that really stuck with me and made me ask questions is “Donnie Darko”. The movie is a sci-fi movie and really makes people wonder what happened at the end? Some people are still confused to this day about the ending and the resolution of the movie which is what makes it such an interesting movie. 

The movie takes place during the presidential election in 1988 and centers around a teenage boy named Donnie Darko played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Donnie starts to experience strange episodes where he sleep walks out of his house in the middle of the night and sees a large rabbit called “Frank”. Frank tells Donnie that the world is gonna end in 28 days, when he returns home the next morning he finds that a jet engine has crashed into his room. Donnie has to return the jet engine back to the primary universe before the end of the 28 days or else the world is going to end. 

I really enjoyed this film because it represents the struggle of being an adolescent outcast as Donnie is perceived to be strange by his friends and family because of his strange behavior and episodes. I like the scene in the movie where Donnie exposes the antagonist Jim Cunningham in front of all the kids at his school. Despite Donnie being a troubled teenage boy perceived as strange he still manages to save the world from ending without any of the people in his life knowing.

I think anyone would like this movie. It has a lot of interesting aspects from time travel, sci-fi, and adolescent life. It really can entertain a large audience. Overall i give this movie a 10 out of 10 because it really made me ask many questions and I was always wondering what would happen next and how the characters would react it also has some really interesting characters with interesting backgrounds.
