This year, the dance team made Bandolera history! For the first time ever, all five dance officers are juniors: Camila, Yatziry, Meli, Emily, and Daniela.
Usually, seniors take the officer spots, but this year broke tradition in the coolest way. These five juniors earned their positions through their hardwork, leadership, and dedication to the team. As officers, they play a huge role in keeping the team motivated and organized. In the past, seniors almost always held the officer titles. But this year, the tradition was broken. These five juniors also stood out through their consistency, and strong connection to the team. Their leadership proved that being a officer isn’t about being the oldest, it’s about showing up, putting in the effort, and setting the example every single day.
As dance officers they take on a huge responsibility, they play a huge role in keeping the team motivated. Whether it’s helping with choreography, setting an example during practices, or supporting their teammates, they’ve shown that leadership comes in many forms.
Their leadership is inspiring younger dancers and showing everyone that age doesn’t limit your ability to lead. This group of five juniors has already made their mark in team history and teamwork, communication, and passion for dance help set the tone for the rest of the team.
What makes this moment even more special is that the group might become the first ever two year line of Dance officers. If they continue leading into senior year, it would mark another major first for the Bandolera program.
