Interested in a guitar club/class at Northbrook High?
In Northbrook’s history, the school has never had Introduction to Guitar as a class or club. It’s time we fix that.
I, Jullian Campa, am a Guitar player myself and trying to recruit people to see if they are interested.
Although I can’t speak to everyone in the school, I’ve created a google form about the details for the club since we cannot start a class for the school yet, But maybe there will be one in the future. The school does not have guitars that the orchestra can use.
Club days would be from 3 pm to 4:15 pm after school. You can leave an option to contact you, or you can stop by the Orchestra room near the bus circle in Room L113 to sign up. In the Google form, we talk about learning different types of songs, finger exercises, and music theory.
To motivate you to join, our teacher looks like John Wick, a famous actor. He will be teaching us songs if he knows them, or I can help with songs too, and he can also teach us music theory and guitar exercises. It’s up to you what you want to learn.
The downside is that you have to provide your guitar, but if you know someone who doesn’t use a guitar they have, you can ask to borrow it. Not to mention if you think it’s only an acoustic guitar that you can bring, you’re wrong. Any guitar you will be able to use in this club, electric or acoustic-electric.
If you can’t find a flyer around the school, you can contact me at [email protected] for any questions. And I’m telling you this right now if you like any of the following bands, which are Nirvana, Green Day, Weezer, Foo Fighters, And Red Hot Chili Peppers, then we can talk about the songs you want to learn from them because they are my top 5 favorites.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Northbrook High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
