“Sleep’s what we need. It produces an emptiness in us into which sooner or later energies flow.”
― John Cage, M: Writings ’67–’72
Have you ever wondered why sleep is important for your health? Have you ever wondered why the human body needs sleep to function. If so then you’re in luck because we are here to tell you about it.
Why is sleeping important
When we sleep we enter a mode called NON-REM sleep where our brain sends a signal that slows down our heart rate and blood pressure sending them into a rest like mode where they get some rest while still running. This helps our heart take a break and in turn dosen’t risk chance of a heart attack. Also when we do sleep the mussels in our body get a brake and are able to function properly because if you don’t sleep and let your body recover it can cause a lack of work your reaction and also your how you would prosses things. That is on point of why sleeping is important.
We don’t realize that the body uses this time to also go thru with its metabolism, The process that digests and uses what it digests as energy for the body to continue running. If we lacked sleep then we would be needing much more food during the day to gain the sufficient energy and so the body would produce the hormones that make us want to eat. This is why lack of sleep is a factor in gaining weight as the body is in need of this. In the end of this you need sleep. Everyone and any living creature in the world needs sleep without it no one would be able to function in our everyday life.
One last quote This is from Matthew Walker “sleep is the swiss army knife of health”. Meaning without sleep you would be lifeless as in tired lazy and not your mind not thinking straight. These facts and quotes state why sleeping is very important for you, your mind and most of all your health.
