Djokovic lost heavily in the Quarterfinals of Erste Bank Open
Novak Djokovic lost to Lozenzo Sonego 2-6, 1-6 in the quarterfinal of the ATP 500 hard court in Vienna on October 30, and this is the third defeat of the World’s number one player.
“He simply blew me away from the field.”
Sonego had never won a set before the top 10 ten players, but in the match yesterday, Sonego completely overwhelmed Djokovic. By the middle of the second set, Djokovic had a chance to win the set, but he missed and could not return to the match.
Like Djokovic, the number two seed Dominic Thiem and the number four seed Daniil Medvedev also had to leave the tournament in the quarterfinals.
Djokovic came to Vienna with the goal to win and increase the point in ATP ranking.
This is the second time in his career, and the first time in 15 years, Djokovic won three games in one match.
