Joshua Garcia, Senior, 3 year varsity goalkeeper, has had an amazing run at Northbrook High School’s soccer program. With years of experience behind him, he approaches this chapter with unmatched focus and a desire to leave an enduring legacy. Determined to mentor younger players and elevate his team, Joshua trains harder than ever, refining his skills and pushing his limits. His passion for the game and commitment to excellence set the tone, inspiring everyone around him to aim higher and give their all, for one last season defending Northbrook’s goal posts.
Being inspired by his dad, Joshua started playing at the age of 5. Through the years, Joshua kept playing and found himself with some recognizable people in the varsity team, Jesus Ayala, Dennis Andrade and Aldo Toledo. All 4 of them play in the same team called San Jose FC, ranked #1 in Texas and all 4 of then found their spot in Northbrook’s soccer team. Joshua has an amazing chemistry between Jesus, Dennis and Aldo. “We understand each other, on and off the field,” said Joshua Garcia.
Their synergy shines in every project, as they effortlessly balance each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Whether tackling challenges or celebrating victories, their mutual respect and shared vision foster an environment of trust and growth. This harmony allows them to overcome obstacles and deliver impactful outcomes, proving that teamwork, when guided by genuine chemistry, is a recipe for unparalleled success. “Last season, we worked together as a team, we accomplished what no other team has been able to accomplish in the last two decades,” said Joshua Garcia.
But he is starting to consider his options after this season.
Joshua’s options are, play at a higher level, join a Sunday league team or pursue higher education leaving behind the beloved sport he is playing.
But that’s up to him to choose which path to take.
Lastly, Joshua has asked everyone in the school to come support the most successful Northbrook varsity soccer team since 2015 in their first season match on January 21, 2025 against Jersey Village.
