Northbrook’s JV basketball team wins their first game of the season!

Your Northbrook high school Junior Varsity Basketball team defeated Brookshire Royal 37-30 on Friday, November 13th, 2020.

I was at the game, and it was a battle to the very end when our Raiders decided to take over the game in the 4th quarter and ending all chances Brookshire had to get the victory.

Challinyer Agurrie, a team player, stated, “I believe this is a great win for our team. I can’t wait to get more of these in the future.”

Agurrie had a great start to the season, with a total of 11 points throughout the game. We hope to hear good things about him and the rest of the team in the near future.

This is Northbrook’s first basketball game of the season, and the Raiders are already off to a great start with a win. The Raiders have a great chance to make some noise in the district and shock everyone, but with Covid getting worse, we hope everyone stays safe, and they can have a complete season, especially for our Seniors on Varsity.

Coach Washington, the coach of the Junior Varsity team, said, “We can compete in our district; we just have to take this win and get right back and focus on the next game.”

Coach Washington and his Junior Varsity team had a great season last year. Still, now most of them are on the varsity team, which means the coach will have to adapt to new players this year under different circumstances due to Covid, but it seems like they have a great start.

The newspaper staff is proud of how the Raiders represent us, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for the future. We also hope everyone on the team stays safe during this pandemic.
